I have received a postcard with votive tablet. It is the "pass" prayer votive tablet that Dharma bound with a white headband of "the victory". There is the seal of Hakusan Shrine in Niigata. I have just noticed that an examination season began in Japan.
The Catholic Church has many European votive tablets. When a wish comes true, unlike Japan, it is dedicated. Wealthy people engrave the will of thanks into the board of the marble and build a new chapel and do oblation. Generally people draw a simple picture on a wooden plate and hang it on the wall of the church. There are many more picture patterns depending on saints for wishes.
