Lena Meyer-Landrut, 19 years old, a German female high school student participated in Eurovision Song Contest held in Oslo, the capital of Norway on May 30 won the first place with 246 points). This happy result happened in Germany for the first time in 28 years.
In fact Germany had been always in championship zone for a long time and people here were filled with joy this time: Turkey in the second place with 170 points, Romania in the third place with 162 points
Eurovision Song Contest is a music contest to be held every year by European Broadcasting Union. European countries take part in the contest (39 countries this time). Judgment is made on the one-country-one-vote basis (12 points of perfect scores). The official languages English and French, but practically English has become the one including "Satellite" by which Lena won.
The contest will be held in Germany next year. Hanover Lena’s hometown, Koeln the city of the music for youth, and Berlin the capital have already become candidates. |
